Vaser Liposuction is a revolutionary, patented technology for eliminating unwanted, stubborn fat in the body*. Vaser Liposuction works by using ultrasonic energy to break up compacted, tough fatty deposits without harming the surrounding organs or tissues; and with minimal pain and discomfort while smoothing the body’s curves and contours*.
Why can’t I get rid of stubborn fat deposits?
Fat, or adipose tissue, is naturally-occurring in our bodies and plays important roles in the body’s healthy function. Not all fat tissues are the same, however, and it is important to understand that some fats are necessary. Generally, there are a few main types of fat tissues, white, brown visceral and subcutaneous. Brown fat cells had long been thought of as a useless type of fat, but new research shows us that brown fat is present in higher percentages in lean individuals and children than obese adults. It is possible to activate brown fat to burn calories! Subcutaneous fat, on the other hand, is the type that collects around the abdomen and creates belly fat.
When you diet, the type of fat that you burn tends to be white fat, but if you add exercise, you can also break down visceral fat. That said, your body tends to reduce fat evenly throughout the body, which explains why it is so difficult to achieve spot-reduction through dieting and exercise alone. In many cases, it is near impossible to target certain areas of the body for slimming and sculpting without help.
Vaser Vs. Traditional Liposuction
The difference between Vaser liposuction and other traditional liposuction treatments go far beyond just technical advances. The specialized ultrasound cannulas of the Vaser system are shown to deliver safer, more efficient fat removal with beautiful results.
Traditional liposuction treatments are falling out of favor due to a number of disadvantages. For one, traditional liposuction treatments do not take advantage of tumescent techniques. Tumescent techniques refer to the use of local anesthetic, which is preferable to general anesthetic due to its superior safety characteristics and improved efficiency. The tumescent technique employs a tumescent fluid, which is a specialized blend of numbing agents like lidocaine, and norepinephrine, which minimize blood loss and softens fat tissue for easier removal. Additionally, this method means patients are awake, resting comfortably and capable of communicating.
Tumescent technique is a standard practice of Houston Liposuction and Vaser treatments.
Treated Body Areas by Vaser Liposuction
Vaser Liposuction can be used on just about any body part, including the abdomen, buttocks, love handles, thighs, arms, hips, neck, chin, back, ankles and chest.
A treatment session is entirely customized to your personal goals and your anatomy and involve a single treatment area or may include multiple areas for treatment.
How Vaser Liposuction Works to Remove Fat*
Vaser Liposelection is used in conjunction with Tumescent Liposuction. First, the area of the body to be treated is injected with an anesthetic solution (tumescent solution) in order to numb the area and loosen the fat. Then, the Vaser device is inserted and ultrasound waves (high-frequency sound energy) are administered by the surgeon through a small probe. The high-power waves break up fatty tissue on contact and the fat cells are absorbed into the “tumescent” solution*. The fat can then be quickly and easily be suctioned out of the patient’s body.
The ultrasound emitters attached to the Vaser cannula also deliver precise waves of ultrasound energy that assist in shaking fat cells loose. Additionally, ultrasound energy triggers localized skin tightening as the probe is worked through the subcutaneous fat layer. The localized skin tightening results in improved, smoother body contouring and reduces the appearance of uneven or bumpy surfaces.
The Houston Liposuction Center staff look forward to providing you with outstanding customer service and amazing liposuction results*.
Preparing for Treatment
To receive treatment, patients must be in good overall health and within a reasonable range of their ideal body weight (typically within 30% of their target weight for their height). We emphasize that Vaser and any liposuction treatment we offer are not alternatives to healthy lifestyle choices, eating right and regular exercise. Liposuction candidates must have realistic expectations of what a treatment can accomplish.
If you’ve hit a glass ceiling in terms of achieving the sculpted body you desire, are struggling to spot-reduce a stubborn pocket of fat, or want to achieve a defined waist and stomach, you may be an ideal candidate for Vaser Liposuction treatment.
We also insist that patients who smoke refrain from smoking at least three weeks before their treatment.
What is the Vaser Liposuction treatment like?
First, Dr. Bergeron will mark the desired treatment area before beginning the procedure. Then, anesthesia is injected into the treatment site to numb the area and ensure the patient feels no discomfort. A small incision is made where the Vaser cannula is inserted and worked through the subcutaneous fat layer. As the cannula is worked through the fat layer, ultrasound energy are simultaneous being pulsed into the fat layer to break apart fat cells for easier removal. This effectively expedites the fat removal step, which improves safety.
Finally, the incision is closed and the treated area is wrapped in a compression garment. Depending on the amount of fat removed, the treatment can take as little as an hour to complete.
After treatment and your Vaser results
With the modern tumescent techniques used in Vaser liposuction, patients are able to return home immediately after treatment with little to no downtime. A few days of rest and most patients are able to return to light, daily activity. Any fat tissue removed through this treatment will not return as long as there is no future weight gain. Many patients are encouraged by their incredible results to take even more control of their health and successfully improve on healthy habits.
Dr. John Bergeron – Houston Liposuction Expert
As one of the most practiced liposuction specialists in the nation, Dr. Bergeron performs hundreds of body sculpting and liposuction treatments annually. Using the safest, most modern treatments, the Houston Liposuction Center’s number one goal is to ensure our patients have a fantastic experience as they gain a new lease on their body confidence through a tailored treatment plan.
Vaser liposuction is just one of many options offered to our patients. At Houston Liposuction Center, we also offer:
SmartLipo – Laser Assisted Liposuction
SmartLipo uses laser energy to assist in the breakdown of fat tissue during the liposuction process. Not only does laser energy assist in fat breakdown, but the heating effect sets in motion a renewal of nearby skin tissue that results in significant skin rejuvenation. SmartLipo energies the skin to produce fresh collagen, an essential building block to healthy skin. The fresh collagen reduces the appearance of cellulite and ultimately creates smoother results.
CoolSculpting – Non-surgical fat reduction
Those who want to reduce fat without surgery now have the option of CoolSculpting! This non-invasive treatment essentially targets fat tissue, freezes it and lets your body’s natural processes remove broken-down fat cells. CoolSculpting is performed using two specialized cooling panels that lower the temperature of a treatment area, triggering cryolipolysis (fat cells have higher water content and freeze at higher temperatures and break down more easily than other tissues) There are no incisions and no downtime required.
CoolSculpting treatment is effective for spot-reducing fat from the abdomen, waist, hips, thighs, double chin, banana rolls, arms, and more! This cutting-edge, scientifically-backed treatment can be performed in as little as an hour and you will be back on your feet, without missing a beat!
There is no perfect solution that will fit everyone, rather the best treatment is the one that will help you achieve your goals that are best for your body.
Your consultation is a personalized, private meeting where the patient’s goals are discussed in detail. After a physical examination, Dr.Bergeron will develop a treatment plan that will achieve the best results possible, appropriate to the patient’s natural anatomy. In many cases, we recommend bringing in photos as a helpful frame of reference for the type of results you want to see.
