The Buttocks Liposuction Procedure

Performing buttocks liposuction takes skill, expertise, and a keen eye for male and female anatomy. The procedure is customized to each patient’s gender, frame, and aesthetic goals. It begins with local anesthesia to keep you comfortable throughout. A thin cannula is inserted through tiny, pre-marked incisions to remove the outer fat layer of the buttocks — and often the surrounding areas — to create a smooth, well-proportioned shape. For a BBL reduction, the surgeon carefully removes volume while preserving an optimal contour. Once the desired result is achieved, a surgical dressing and compression garment are applied.

Buttocks Liposuction Recovery & Downtime

A compression garment is applied at the end of the procedure and must stay on day and night for two weeks. Plan to take several days off work, especially if your job involves sitting for long periods, and rest or sleep on your stomach until told otherwise. Normal daily activities resume within a few days, and walking is encouraged to promote healthy blood flow. Beautifully contoured results appear as swelling subsides, typically within about one month.

At the time of discharge, all patients are given a prescription for pain medication. If they choose to fill it, they will do so at their own pharmacy. Some patients also choose to buy a second compression garment at their own expense.
